NETWORK CONSULTANT
OVERVIEW:
Technical Excellence in networking is crucial to the business. Our client requires someone who can build a strong relationship with our clients customers, display passion and enthusiasm for designing and delivering brilliant IT solutions across networks and services, both on-premises and cloud-hosted.
As a Network Consultant, you will be a trusted advisor and be the technical lead on projects, ensuring the company delivers optimal solutions and services to their customers.
They are a Premier Cisco partner. You will be responsible for consulting, designing, installing and providing major incident support across Cisco and other network vendors' product ranges and solutions
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Commercial:
- Assisting with pre-sales demonstrations and identifying upsell opportunities when conducting client estate audits.
- Build excellent rapport with our clients and be the trusted advisor for all their technology needs.
- Extensive Stakeholder Management experience and be able to influence commercial decisions.
Customer Service:
- Go the extra mile for our clients, we pride ourselves in providing personalised, friendly and unique service.
- Possess the "fill the room" effect, which means you will "wow" our clients through demonstrating a high standard of knowledge and gravitas.
- Proactively ensure our customers' networks and the services we are providing are running at an optimal level. Regularly review their technical estates to minimise vulnerability or risk to their network.
- Contribute to an on-call rota, one week in five
Leadership:
- As a Subject Matter Expert within networking and ultimately a "go-to" person you will be responsible for acting as technical lead on projects and taking ownership of client relationships.
- It is important that you collaborate with the team and knowledge share, mentoring others is a significant factor within this role.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- CCNP R&S is essential.
- Knowledge of WAN and LAN solutions, including network virtualisation.
- Done design, configuration and maintenance of Firewalls like Cisco ASA/FirePOWER, Cisco ISE.
- Prior experience or interest in SDN, SD-WAN, Hyper-Converged and Hybrid-Cloud Data Centre Solutions such as Cisco Viptela or ACI, as this is very much the direction their business is moving.
- Creation of HLD, LLD and technical documentation
- In-depth knowledge of VLAN design and implementation.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of routing and switching, particularly across Cisco products.
- Have built WLC from scratch, doing site surveys and identifying access points. They mainly use Meraki.
- Configuration and deployment of Cisco virtual appliances and VMware vCentre networking.
Desirable:
- CCNP Security, CCDP or CCIE R&S/Security is highly advantageous.
- Any training or certifications with other vendors is nice to have but not essential.
- Having prior Cisco Umbrella or AMP experience is highly desirable but not essential.
