2nd Line Support Engineer - London - MSP

A London-based MSP is currently looking for an experienced 2nd Line Support Engineer to join a busy and close-knit team. You will have worked previously within a similar technical role for an MSP and are now looking to make that next move to further your career.

Role:

The role is to provide support and technical advice to a diverse client base. The role will require a high level of technical proficiency and you will need to be an excellent communicator. The candidate will have a firm background in Microsoft technologies and have experience of working in a similar environment. You will be required to work from our client sites around the Central, South West London area.

Duties will include:

Helpdesk and call management

2nd line support remotely and mainly on-site

Dealing with client internal IT teams and stakeholders

Managing 3rd Party support requests

Engaging with the internal 1st/2nd & 3rd Line team to assist with customer fault/problem resolution and transfer knowledge verbally and via documented knowledge base articles

Technical Knowledge:

Essential:

Desktop platforms including Windows 10/11 and MAC Operating Systems

Excellent understanding of networking including vLANs, switching, NAT rules and Firewalls

Microsoft AD, DHCP, DNS, DFS, Profiles, Group Policies

Office 365

Mimecast

SonicWall/Sophos XG Firewalls

Desirable:

Halo & N-able Central

Aruba Switches/Aruba AirView

Hypervisor technology specifically VMWare & Hyper-V

Azure

Microsoft Windows Server 2008 to 2016

Windows Defender

ITIL environment

Personal Skills:

Excellent communications skills both verbally and written

Excellent professional telephone manner

Ability to explain solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences

Proven ability to work under pressure and with other people

Excellent time management and self-motivation skills

Strong desire to provide the best solutions using the latest technology

Experience/Qualifications:

Project Management experience is desirable though not essential
