Our Public Sector client is looking for a Employee Relations Advisor to come in on a initial 6 month contract. The role involves the management of complex Employee Relations casework and people issues. Ensuring matters are resolved in line with internal policy and wider employment law. Guide, empower and coach managers on people issues and work alongside trade union partners and other business stakeholders. Drive forward equality advancement initiatives.
Essential criteria
Technical and Professional
- Proven track record of delivering within an employee relations environment, (ER Casework management eg, attendance, disciplinary, grievances and performance).
- Chartered CIPD membership (working towards or willing to), or other relevant qualification.
Changing & Improving
- Regularly reviews procedures and policies to make suitable recommendations for change and where applicable, pre-empts the effects changes will have within own team and the wider organisation.
Analysis & Making Effective Decisions
- Confident in making decisions, even if they may be unpopular.
- Able to seek out/collate and analyse data, picking out relevant information to assist in decision making process and case resolution.
Collaborating & Partnering/Building Capability for All (cluster)
- Skilled at building strong relationships within own team and with all relevant stakeholders to provide an excellent service.
- Continually seeks and acts on feedback to evaluate and improve own, and where applicable, team performance.
Delivering a Quality Service
- Uses a range of suitable skills and techniques to deliver outcomes, including identifying risks and mitigating actions.
- Is aware of and focused on maintaining service standards, including identifying risks and mitigating actions to ensure professional excellence and expertise is delivered.
