SC Cleared Senior Software Engineering Specialist

We have an exciting opportunity for a SC Cleared Senior Software Engineering Specialist to join our well established client in Christchurch on a permanent basis. Our client have an informal hybrid working arrangement. 3 days in the office.

£85,000 pa salary

The Engineering Team based in Farnborough, UK is responsible for:
* The system design and integration of the latest military communications products into customer focused solutions.
* The design, development and porting of military waveforms onto Software Defined Radios
* The through-life support of in-service and future tactical radio products and systems. The Engineering Team comprises system, software, hardware, mechanical and test engineering disciplines.

This person will contribute to the company's success through the development of software for our tactical communications products, supporting applications and systems. This role will report directly to the Senior Engineering Manager. There will be daily interaction with other engineers and frequent contact with team members from within the company and partner organisations.

Essential Responsibilities:
* Software design, implementation and test for Embedded systems and application software.
* Building and maintaining development and integration environments.
* Design a DevOps tool chain to deliver target environments, COTS software and patches.
* Management and maintenance of software artefact repositories.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Master's Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Knowledge and experience of software engineering (Embedded or application).
* Knowledge and experience of DevOps methods and tools.
* Knowledge and experience of software configuration management and software artefact repositories.
* Experience with multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux and Embedded RTOS).
* Knowledge and experience of UML and associated tools.
* Experience of software integration and deployment.
* Knowledge of Scripting and automation
* Understanding of Virtualisation and Containerisation.
* Knowledge of military communications, networking and IT infrastructure.
