Senior Java Developer - Low Latency Trading Platforms - £200k+ OTE - London

Cititec are collaborating with a market-leading trading company in cryptocurrency. The company wants to add a Senior Java Developer with experience working on low-latency trading systems to permanently join their prop trading team. You will get to work across every major area of the crypto ecosystem.

The role would be based out of their London office and will involve coming to the office 2-3 days per week.

Scope

• Designing, developing, and maintaining high-performing low latency trading systems using Java.
• Building and maintaining trading infrastructure to handle high volumes of data and transactions.
• Collaborating with DevOps engineers, IT support teams, and other developers to ensure trading systems operate smoothly.
• Working closely with quant analysts and researchers to understand business requirements and develop technical solutions.

Skills required

• Strong development experience in Java, including concurrency, networking and Multithreading.
• Experience with SBE (Simple Binary Coding).
• Experience with IPC (Inter Process Communication) over shared memory.
• Knowledge of WebSocket, FIX protocols and HTTP.
• Familiarity with financial markets and trading systems
• Experience with TCP and UDP (unicast and multicast)

Nice to have skills

• Experience with Rust
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes for containerisation.
• Knowledge of Cloud computing and distributed systems.
