Cloud Security Engineer

In this role, you will be responsible for analysing, designing, and implementing security measures and controls to meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
Our Cloud Security team operates within our broader Information Security department. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the security of our cloud platforms, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS).
Joining our team presents an exciting opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals in shaping our cloud security practices. You will work closely with the Cloud Platform team and other Information Security colleagues to ensure the secure implementation of use cases and optimize the effectiveness of security tools.
This position is eligible for our hybrid working from home policy, offering flexibility in your work arrangements. We value candidates with working knowledge of cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Azure, or Microsoft 365. Experience in implementing cloud security best practices, managing cloud security posture, and applying Identity and Access Management (IAM) controls is highly advantageous.
Additionally, familiarity with cloud incident response planning, security event management, and detection tools is desired. A strong background in enterprise infrastructure, preferably with exposure to Microsoft Windows Server or Linux Operating systems, is valuable. Knowledge of network protocols, data flow analysis, and network design is also beneficial.
As a successful candidate, you should have extensive experience in security roles, including working with at least one cloud platform. Demonstrable expertise in applying security risk assessment methodologies is essential. Proficiency in Scripting, infrastructure as code, and automation tools such as Terraform is a plus. Furthermore, knowledge of security industry practices and standards, with an ability to apply them to cloud services, is highly valued.
In this role, your main responsibilities will include providing engineering oversight and guidance for specific cloud security technologies, ensuring that all cloud services are designed with security in mind. You will also review existing toolsets, identify operational gaps, and propose security enhancements. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to support and consult with stakeholders on security-related matters.
