Monitoring Engineer - Fully Remote - £50,000 - £57,000

We're working with a well-known brand in the insurance market who has a rapid growth within the Infrastructure team due to more company acquisitions. The Monitoring Engineer will be responsible for monitoring systems and infrastructure to ensure the highest levels of availability. Analyse and report platform behaviour, resolve issues, recommend, and implement improvements.

The company have an office in London, ideally they would like 1 day a week onsite if possible, but can also can offer fully remote working. The working pattern will be 8am - 4pm.

Day to day responsibilities for the Monitoring Engineer:

• Resolve any issues highlighted by the monitoring platform
• Improve upon the existing monitoring platform (CheckMK) to implement controls and alerts for all aspects of IT monitoring
• Work within the internal governance team to maintain systems within agreed KPI's
• Work with other teams, such as development, to implement monitoring to wider areas
• Responsible for design of monitoring best practices
• Design solutions for automating the resolutions of common issues
• Report on performance, create statistics and monitoring dashboards
• Advise on performance adjustments needed
• Supplement the external 3rd party monitoring team who perform generic BAU monitoring

Essential Experience Required:

• Previous experience within a Monitoring role
• Familiar with Check MK
• Understanding of Automation tools/PowerShell
• Solid grounding with Routers, Switches, and Firewalls
• Understanding of Azure Platform as a Service technologies
