Web Developer Role Overview

As a member of the Applications Portfolio team, you will support all corporate applications across a large MOD estate including cloud offerings such as Oracle Fusion and ServiceNow.
We are seeking a web developer to assist with the day-to-day maintenance and updating of existing applications as well as assisting in the development of new applications through Project activity hosted on OnPrem, .NET or on ServiceNow.
You will be working on projects relating to core technology platform, working alongside solution architects and senior developers to clarify and design solutions based on a sound understanding of UX.

Web Developer Key Responsibilities:

• To deliver work to agreed estimates and timescales.
• To produce software component designs and specifications.
• To produce and test software components of any size and complexity.
• To produce unit, link and integration test plans and test results.
• To create test data and testing environments for unit, link and integration testing.
• To assist with integration testing, system testing, acceptance testing and implementation.
• To produce system documentation.
• To undertake on project estimates and to ensure estimates for the creation and development of IT solutions are achievable.
• To implement change control procedures.
• To maintain and develop knowledge skill and competencies in software development in more than one specialist area.
• To implement appropriate software configuration management processes for deliverables.
• To report own and team's progress and issues to the Project Manager in a timely manner. In particular, to relay issues that might impact on quality or the ability to deliver to timescales or estimates.
• To identify and communicate potential risk areas to the company.
• To carry out audits and participate in technical walkthroughs of other team members' components, test plans and results.
• To support a body of knowledge in the application of technology to addressing business issues.

Web Developer essential skills:

• Strong knowledge and working experience with C#, ASP, .NET core or web development.
• Proven track record of developing SOAP and/or REST interfaces
• Knowledge of working with an application life cycle management tool such as Azure DevOps, Git or Bitbucket
• HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript experience
• Frontend UI framework and C# MVC and WebAPI

Desirable Skills

Experience in:

* Agile development methodologies
* MS SQL Server Development
* Architecture patterns and practices
* UX Wireframe and prototyping tools eg, Axure
* Unit Testing tools JINIT
* Powershell Scripting
