Your new company
Your new organisation specialises in providing data warehouse and Business Intelligence solutions to key services in the UK and internationally. It is a budding SME making incredible change within its unique area of the market. This company heavily invests in cutting-edge technology to ensure they remain innovative and ahead of the curve. As part of growth plans for 2024, they are looking to hire a Senior Systems Engineer to join the team.
Your new role
You will join the infrastructure team and be responsible for hosting and Back Office systems in multiple countries. You will have a broad range of tasks, including mentoring junior engineers, as well as acting as a senior point of escalation for the helpdesk to aid with resolving client issues. Your team primarily focuses on supporting the development and hosting of data warehouse solutions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that requires proactive management. The role requires adherence to best practices and standards such as ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials, as you will be working in a high-security environment.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed, you will have a comprehensive set of skills related to Microsoft technologies and systems. This includes expertise in Hyper-V, Windows Clustering, SANs, and Virtual Switches for virtualisation and high availability. Proficiency in Office 365 Administration and Azure Active Directory will be essential. Knowledge of core Windows network services, such as Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and PowerShell Scripting, will be necessary for effective system management. Additionally, you should be familiar with security and identity management practices. Finally, proficiency in Microsoft SQL will be an essential skill for you to administrate the databases.
