Senior Network Engineer - Pioneering Network Transformation - 12 month FTC - Manchester!

Prestigious opportunity for an experienced Network Engineer to dedicate their expertise to a pioneering Network Transformation. In a complex enterprise scale environment, you will be report to the Network & Operations Team Leader working closely with Infrastructure Engineers across the team. Based in our modern City Centre premises, we offer hybrid working and an enviable benefits package.

In addition to leading and co-ordinating other stakeholders on specific projects, you will be responsible for:-

• Providing technical expertise, support, and network specialist advice in delivering operational infrastructure services
• Planning, prioritising, mentoring and developing other Network Engineers
• Planning and managing complex network projects
• Identifying the life cycle of key Infrastructure services and presenting best options for replacements
• Collaborating with authority and fostering excellent working relationships across the business
• Leading on risks and issue management, identifying and managing risks and issues.

• Ability to analyse and troubleshoot complex network issues
• Knowledge of Incident Management, Availability and Capacity Management, Service Introduction, Change Management and Service Level Management (ITIL)
• Specialist knowledge across network design, configuration, and security (including patching) across a range of infrastructure technologies
• Cisco Enterprise wired and wireless technologies:
  • SDN/DNA
  • ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure)
  • Core, Distribution, Edge
  • Wireless Lan Controllers
  • ISE (Identity Services Engine)
  • Wi-Fi 6/6E AP's/Services
  • Network monitoring technologies (SolarWinds).
  • Palo Alto Firewalls
  • DNS, DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) & IP Address Management Solutions
  • Fibre and Cat 6a data cabling standards
  • Data centre and comms room environment technologies
  • Knowledge of the following is advantageous but not essential:
    • Understanding of security best practices within an enterprise environment
    • Cisco software defined networking for efficient automated management of network
    • Working in an Enterprise datacentre and the practical application of High Availability, Resilience, and clustering server techniques
    • Hybrid cloud network architectures and their practical application
    • Azure
