Senior PCB Design Engineer - Analogue - Digital - EMC

We are looking for an experienced PCB design engineer specialises in DFM, and DFA to join the team. You will be part of a busy team and design work on taking a conceptual PCB design to mass production (Dfx). The design engineer, with a proven track record creating robust, reliable high-quality designs; accurately, consistently, on time, every time.

The successful candidate for this role will have a strong team leading approach to their work The projects will require a creative approach to the challenges in the electronics industry. The candidate must be able to deliver to agreed timescales and be accountable for their tasks. As a PCB design engineer with proven experience, you will provide technical guidance for PCBA related design especially around best practices for DfX. The role requires previous experience in high voltage, high current and bringing up prototype to mass production.

Responsibility and Requirements

- Ensure PCBA designs are engineered as a part of the overall product, identifying best technologies and practices to suit project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.

- Collaborate with project teams to help generate a specification for each design.

- Identify PCB engineering problems and take initiative to generate solutions through a methodical and structured approach, providing technical guidance to others as required.

- Proactive support to DfX and provide supervision of the PCB layout process.

- Promote consistent working practices.

- Good familiarity with PCB/PCBA manufacturing processes.

- Act as a role model and provide technical leadership & support. keep up to date with new PCB techniques, tools, and standards.

- Mentoring & coaching others when required

- liaise effectively with external suppliers, PCB Contractor, Assembly and PCB Fabricator.

Nice to have

- Design for high volume, applying an Embedded DFM and DFA approach & principles.

- Working knowledge of relevant PCB standards and Assembly guidelines (ie IPC)

- Previous experience with layout of mixed analogue and digital designs, high speed buses, SMPS, impedance-controlled traces, and power traces (ie Powertrain, Batteries, BMS, SMPS) is an added advantage.

- Knowledge in EMC best layout practise for EMC compliance.

- Familiar with IEC 60664-1 creepage and clearance standard is an added advantage.
