Head Mechanic - Micro-Mobility

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Head Mechanic to join their micro-mobility business on a permanent basis. The position is based from their London Warehouse and working 40hrs per week. The ideal candidate will have both strong leadership experience as well as practical maintenance of e-bikes and/or e-scooters.

What you will do:

• You will lead the repairs and maintenance of the fleet in order to maximise e-bike/scooter availability across the city

• You will be responsible for managing the flow of vehicles through each operational process including receipt & diagnosis, repair/maintenance, quality control, battery charging and deployment

• You will also be responsible for assigning tasks to a small team, such as vehicle repairs, vehicle inspections and battery charging

Responsibilities:

• Completing a variety of vehicle repairs to ensure maximum e-bike/scooter availability

• Oversee the maintenance operation of our e-bikes/scooters (servicing and repairs) including monitoring warehouse processes and planning the redistribution of e-bikes/scooters to streets

• Regular monitoring and stock take of spare parts and tools

• Working closely with the Operations Team to develop shift strategy and monitor/report shift metrics

• Maintain a safe and efficient work environment by following safe work practices and procedures

• Training the team on best practices on all e-bike/scooter related operations

• Be a leader to a small yet diverse team

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a mechanic for e-vehicles, preferably both e-bikes and e-scooters

• Experience in a leadership or supervisory position, working effectively in a team-centred environment

• Clean DBS check for the past 5 years

• Intermediate computer knowledge (Google Suite spreadsheets, documents, web browser, emails, etc.)

• Familiarity with using smartphones/technology

• (Preferred) Clean driving record for the past 3 years

• (Preferred) Experience driving a variety of vehicle types

• Flexibility to work non-standard hours including weekends when required
