Allen Lane is delighted to be supporting Southwark Council in their search for a Change Manager to join their ambitious and forward-thinking Technology and Digital Service. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex change initiatives that will support the staff of Southwark to adapt to system and process changes across the organisation.
The role
In November 2016, Cabinet endorsed Southwark's Modernisation Strategies (Workforce, Workplace and IT & Digital Services) which outlined how Southwark would become a transformed, forward-thinking, dynamic council that effectively embraces modern ways of working. In order to implement this strategy, Southwark is embarking on a programme of modernisation in the way that they work.
The role of Change Manager will work across the organisation, supporting staff and managers to adapt to the various change programmes to realise the benefits of the various project, programmes and initiatives
As a Digital Change Manager you will:
- Be accountable for the design, implementation and management of change strategies for a number of projects and programmes
- Manage the change activities including research and design of key engagement activities.
- Understand and translate overall objectives into a coherent programme of change
- Implement a comprehensive stakeholder management strategy maintaining key relationships with senior stakeholders across the council
- Work with Heads of service to create engagement approaches that will support them in embracing and championing change
- Manage any risk issues that may affect the ability to drive change across Southwark
Key Skills required
As a Digital Change Manager you will have:
- Experience managing change within a large organisation ideally relating to culture and large-scale initiatives
- Significant experience in building and sustaining relationships with key stakeholders
- A track record in executing detailed and comprehensive engagement plans including training
- The ability to develop a change strategy and plan combining numerous project deliverables
- Previous experience in delivering behavioural change through transformation
- Ideally experience working in a similar role within a large public sector organisation
What you get in return
A salary between £44,691 - £54,783 plus a range of excellent benefits including 28 days annual leave and the Local Government Pensions Scheme.
