Chief Financial Officer - Interim

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A SALARIED FIXED TERM CONTRACT FOR 12 - 15 MONTHS

Relocation Support is offered to relocate to the Inverness area if needed.

Harvey Nash Executive Search are delighted to be working with our public sector client to appoint an Interim CFO/Director of Finance to their Executive Leadership team. This is a truly unique role, working closely with the wider Executive team, taking on a key role in the ongoing execution of their 5-year financial strategy interlinking with key business activities such as financial systems, financial forecasting etc.

The successful candidate will also provide strategic financial direction for the wider business, working with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver corporate financial transformation, including the establishment of a financial shared service.

The role sits within Public Sector - hence we need someone with extensive experience of a complex Public Sector/third sector or HE/FE finance model. Specific and extensive experience in working within a complex funding environment is essential for this opportunity. As is the ability to commit to two days a week on site in Inverness - please note that relocation is an option for this role.

In terms of essential criteria for this role we ask the candidates review the below:

• Relevant Industry Qualification (CCAB, ACCA, CIMA, or ACA) with several years' experience post qualification
• Significant experience at Director/Executive level in public sector environment of managing complex multi-site/group financial accounts, including statutory returns to government and funding bodies
• Proven success in leading multi-disciplinary financial functions with a high degree of virtual/hybrid working
• Experience and evidence of developing and implementing finance strategy, change and transformation
• Able to work collaboratively while providing constructive challenge to achieve strategic aims and goals
• An ability to manage risk and appreciate the constraints/requirements of an organisation in receipt of public funds
• Strong commercial skills including the ability to make sound and decisive financial decisions
• Experience of income generation through funding routes
• The gravitas and ability to engage with external funding bodies, public and private sector partners
• Committment to work in Inverness a minimum of two days a week
