Role: Senior Engineer Infrastructure Operations Linux

Contract Day Rate: £500-£540 per day

Status: Outside IR35

Minimum clearance required: DV Clearance (if SC, will need to go through DV Clearance before starting)

Senior Networks Linux Engineer required to support a secret classification customer service. Provide technical advice and influence other teams on the best technical solutions and process improvements, resolve problems, assist in enhancing internal processes and improving technical services. Your experience with OS installation and maintenance for Linux Platforms will be key, as well as TCP/IP network knowledge.

Key Accountabilities:

* Build and troubleshoot infrastructure solutions using architect's drawings, diagrams and/or data flows;

* Identify and take ownership of technical problems and incidents; manage, coordinate and prioritise tasks to resolve technical incidents as quickly as possible;

* Identify and investigate repeat issues and faults, initiate and monitor actions to investigate patterns and trends, consulting specialists where required; determine the appropriate Remedy and preventative measures; assist with their implementation;

Scope:

* Provide technical advice and influence other teams on the best technical solutions and process improvements;

* Resolve problems when there is no available precedent;

* Seek ways to enhance internal processes to improve technical services

Experience:

* Agile & ITIL Foundation level/relevant experience;

* Practitioner level knowledge of hardware, software and systems being supported;

* Substantial experience in relevant roles, including technologies in an enterprise environment, and of working within a secure environment, eg MOD

Technologies Required Experience:

* Linux/Ubuntu/Debian/Red Hat

* SAN/backup Storage

* OS Installation and Maintenance for Linux Platforms

* VMware platform experience

* Apache/NBINX Server Installation

* AWS

* Shell Scripting

* TCP/IP Network Knowledge
