Cloud Operations Engineer - 12-month contract - Brussels

One of our important clients is currently looking for a Cloud Operations Engineer for a 12-month contract in Brussels. Day rate is negotiable.

The Cloud Operations Engineer needs to act as a doer, constructive collaborator, analyze and find solutions compliant with the security and company standards. S/He develops, automates deployments and actively participate to the operationalization of the cloud infrastructure.

Missions:

• Match and document infrastructure implementation/monitoring/management with software architecture
• Influence software architecture to simplify/streamline operational management
• Monitor running instances ensure costs are managed and optimized against performance
• Configuration changes/automation of changes
• Monitor/manage logs
• Patch management
• Security and key management, manage the roles and authorization for applications
• Monitor infrastructure/application performance & health
• Developing and monitoring infrastructure automation for deployment
• Monitor build/deployment status
• Managing infrastructure on Microsoft Azure
• Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery software release management and automation

Technical skills:

• must have a very broad IT knowledge covering infrastructure domains (networking, security)
• must have an understanding of the architecture, design and development of cloud services
• knowledge of best practices and IT operations for always-up, always-available services
• a previous experience as cloud consultant
  • with proven experiences in containerization (Kubernetes cluster | AKS)
  • understanding of authentication and authorization principles in cloud
  • in micro service oriented IT architectures
  • in cloud platforms
• very good and passionate in Scripting (Terraform | CLI & PowerShell | YAML)
• proven experience with similar missions/projects/technologies:
  • understanding of Microsoft Azure architecture and services
  • understanding IoT architectures is a plus
• experience in designing and developing cloud security strategies and cloud networks
• experiences in creating technical/IT concepts, technical specifications and architectures

• must be able to work independently and estimate own workload
• analytical skills in identifying problems and pointing out solutions
• able to deliver pragmatic approaches and keeping solutions as simple as possible

• able to present/discuss (to technical audience) the proposed solutions
• language: English mandatory (French, Dutch and/or German is a plus)
