Grafana Developer

Role Description:

The role is to develop and maintain a set of Grafana dashboards which is used to report on the performance of the Customs Declaration Service. This role will require the incumbent to contribute in all phases of the development life cycle, writing well-designed, testable & efficient code. Additionally, the incumbent will ensure designs are in compliance with specifications, prepare and produce releases of software components, and support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies, and presenting these for architectural review.

• Extensive [minimum 3 years] of experience in developing, maintaining, and managing Grafana dashboards & analytics and knowledge of Grafana administration/architecture.
• Experiences in configuring dashboards, alerts and alarms, Integration with different tools, API integrations and reports.
• Experience with Data visualization using Grafana
• Experience creating Grafana dashboards to display time-based data plots
• Ability to prepare a dashboard from scratch including setting up connection with the DB. Setting up jobs to fetch data on a specified frequency, setting up connections to non-DB data sources eg. Excel sheets.
• Ability to enhance existing Grafana dashboards and added new dashboards.
• Proficiency in use of PL/SQL, Influx DB and Postgres DB.
• Good knowledge of implementing charts/graphs on Grafana and an understanding which graphs work best for representing different types of data.

Responsibilities:

• Understanding the functional requirements quickly and developing forward looking dashboards to take care of future scenarios
• Performing and documenting data analysis, data validation, and data mapping/design.
• Conducting unit tests and developing database queries to validate the dashboard output and troubleshoot any issues
• Developing, maintaining, and managing advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards, and other BI solutions
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
