C# .Net Azure Developer

Ecoveritas is a data specialist providing a range of tools and expertise to brands, retailers and their supply chains to efficiently minimise their environmental impact. In May 2022 the company was subject to a management buyout, this has led to a significant investment in the IT services that support the business operations.

Over the next two years Ecoveritas will develop a new digital platform that will help clients manage the impact of packaging on the environment and enable the planned growth of the business. The new platform will be a modern data management platform that will transition the business from manual spreadsheet orientated processes to automated, flexible technology based processes.

Role Purpose

Ecoveritas is looking for a full stack c# .net Azure / developer to join the new project team to support the development of a new software platform. The new role will:

• The technical design and development of new software features
• Work with the developers to refine the:
  • Technical framework for development in Azure
  • Agile development processes
• Work with the Product Owner and Business Architect to refine their description of requirements
• The operational support of the software platform

This role will be based in the new Ecoveritas office in Manchester with remote working once working patterns have become established.

Technical Skill set

Must have skills:

• Structure software solutions so that are appropriately layered, effective use of architecture / development patterns, effective use of the c# / .net core (4 years)

• Designing and development distributed / microservices software systems (4 years)

• Designing and developing solutions based upon Azure SQL and .net entity framework (4 years)
• Working with native Azure Services (E.g. Key Vault, Service Bus, AppInsights, API Management, Active Directory, Azure Functions etc) (4 years)
• Developing Web Applications and APIs based on asp.net (Ideally with Server side blazor / Razor) (3 years)

A good quality mix of the following is required:

• Designing and developing Azure solutions where the non-functional requirements are of equal importance to the
  functional requirements (3 years)
• Integrating XUnit / SpecFlow testing into your day to day development (3 years)
• Integrating Continuous Integration / Continuous Development into your day to day development (3 years)
• Azure Scripting with PowerShell (3 years)
• Developing solutions based upon Cosmos (2 years)
• Documenting solutions ensuring they are sustainable (2 years)
• Experience designing in best practise security guidance into your development work (2 years)
• Integration of pipeline tools into your day to day development (E.g. OWASP, GitLeaks etc) (2 years)
• Working with the GitFlow process (2 years)

Development processes

A good quality mix of the following is required:

Process area

• Working with-in a larger development team, supporting other developers as required (2 years)
• Working with Azure DevOps (2 years)
• Developing software with-in an Agile process (2 years)
• Working in a cross functional team (2 years)
• Undertaking code reviews with a positive and supportive approach (2 years)

Initially reporting to the Chief Technology Officer. This role has no direct reports.
