My client have experienced rapid growth in the last 4 years from 7 to 400 employees after receiving significant investment from their parent company and are a global training and simulation software company for defense and civilian organisations.
They develop high-fidelity, cost-effective simulation software products and components for defense applications, it's like gaming in the real world.
Their simulations prepare, execute and assess complex training scenarios globally where they create high-performance realistic visual scenes from simple desktop or VR applications to complex multi-channel configurations with their image generator product, to even geo-specific terrain environments with their industry leading Terrain software. Their products are used in over 60 countries with thousands of personnel using their products to train every year.
They require a Senior Developer to join the team with extensive experience within C# and C++ who is a very diverse cone shaped skill-set individual who classes themselves as a polyglot Developer, you might have experience in an array of technologies including things such as JavaScript's, Typescript's, SQL, Blazor, WPF, XAML, graphics programming as well as the necessary C#, C++ experience.
The role will be split between hands on technical work and technical mentoring a team of developers and being responsible for assisting in the design and working on projects whilst mentoring deadlines looking to exceed expectations, with the view of becoming the Lead/Principle Engineer after two 6 monthly reviews.

Key Areas of Responsibility and knowledge
- Mentor-ship in the areas of programming, architecture, and technology used by the other tools engineers.
- Maintenance and creation of tools and pipeline to support the development of artwork/content for the VBS engine.
- Coordinate with other engineering teams to ensure a smooth flow of deliverables.
- Works closely with the Architecture Group to maintain technical consistency and quality of all assigned projects.
Knowledge
- Broad development knowledge base with multiple specialisations in adjacent complementary skills and technologies.)
- Demonstrate a high level proficiency of the technology involved with transformation, transmission and generation of textures, 3d files, audio, shaders and other art related software tools and technologies.
- Exhibits deep knowledge of linear algebra in 3D, data structures and physics, or other similar, lightning models, shaders and DirectX/OpenGL.A keen interest in cutting edge developments in the wider industry, regularly keeping up-to-date on potential new technologies and able to assess their usefulness.
