Environmental Health Officer

Urgent contract | Environmental Health Officer - 3 months

We are currently partnered with an organisation seeking an experienced and motivated Environmental Health Officer to join our team on an initial 3 month contract. The Environmental Health Officer will carry out enforcement duties as required, by actioning all relevant legislation and administrating services for a wide variety of applications associated with the work of the Section in which the post holder is engaged. Experience within the public sector or working with government bodies is advantageous for the Environmental Health Officer.

The Environmental Health Officer will have experience inspecting and investigating noise complaints or nuisances.

Key Responsibilities for the Environmental Health Officer:

• Undertake fieldwork on site including appropriate visits, enforcement activities and the relevant administration relating to the enforcement activities.
• Inspect, survey and assess premises, processes and practices relevant to the Section, including specialist inspection duties relevant to the specific Section where the post is based.
• Respond to complaints and enquiries relevant to the work of the Section.
• Advise both the public and Council on specialist duties, enquiries and general issues of concern.
• Provide specialist advice relevant to the work of the Section to all external and internal customers
• Carry out enforcement duties as required by actioning all relevant legislation.

Key Requirements for the Environmental Health Officer:

• Certificate of Registration of the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board.
• At least 2 years' experience in a similar role.
• A good understanding of relevant legislation and its implementation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility in approach to work.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation.
