IT Manager - Up to £64,000 - Wakefield

Experienced IT Manager required on a permanent basis for a renowned and expanding public sector organisation based in West Yorkshire. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference operationally to a team of around 40 staff in the ICT department during a time of digital change and transformation. You will also be involved in discussions around the digital strategy moving forwards.

Your new role

As the IT Manager, you will be responsible for leading the organisation's IT team overseeing all aspects of service delivery and managing operational activities. You will have 4 direct which include all operational teams.

You will be responsible for providing professional and robust IT capabilities (both people and systems) focusing on performance, continuous improvement, innovation, emerging technologies, and methodologies whilst controlling costs and improving quality standards to ensure that IT related services meet the requirements of the business its customers. This role requires the ability to develop, grow and nurture positive relationships within the organisation and also externally with key IT service suppliers

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience within an IT leadership role managing wide ranging technical teams
• Experience with digital transformation and change programmes in a complex technical environment
• Experience of managing to financial standards, procurement & commercial negotiations and dealing with suppliers both via formal procurement and strategic partnerships.
• Experience of successfully delivering IT programmes and projects within a complex organisation to agreed time scales, budget and scope
• ITIL Expert certified or experience and willingness to undertake this qualification
• Educated to degree level in an ICT related subject or equivalent professional qualification/experience
• Ability to communicate complex and/or technical information to a wider non-technical audience
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
