Senior Tester - initial until 31/03/2024 - Strasbourg - EU-client - urgent!

We are urgently looking for one "Senior Tester" in STRASBOURG (100% on-site, when Covid restrictions been lifted, EU-nationals ONLY) to start from approx. June-July 2023 an initial contract until 31/03/2024 (extensions possible) for an international Org' client in Strasbourg. This role is expected to run several years.

EU nationals ONLY (due to the "EU" security certifications required). We can't accept any longer UK-consultants, as long they don't have EU-SECRET clearance or another EU-citizenship.

• Our client is an international organisation and a great reference in any CV! English speaking environment.
• 100% onsite Strasbourg and living in proximity to clients' premises. Depending on COVID-19 rules in France, there might be some off-site (tbc), but in general, this position will be 100% on-site at EU-agency client in Strasbourg.
• This is a real longterm contract with possibility of extension based on performance and budget availability.
• EU nationals ONLY (due to the "EU" security certifications required). We can't accept any longer UK-consultants, as long they don't have EU-scurity-clearance or another EU-citizenship (after Brexit the UK-consultant can't get any longer "EU" security clearances, which is mandatory for this position).
• A Security clearance (SC) will be required for this position, if you don't have a valid SC, we will guide you. Our company is holding "FSC - Facility Security Clearance", so we are able to guide/sponsor you through the "PSC - Personal Security Clearance" procedure.
• Start date "ASAP" means within 2-3 months (because of SC-procedure, while an existing EU-security-clearance will allow to start sooner, but a new SC application will delay start by some weeks/months).

TASKS (the focus of the role is not clear and we will only found out in the interview).

• Performing testing activities on technical products
• Managing the test activities as undertaken by the contractors
• Developing test tools, strategies, test processes, procedures and documentation
• Developing test acceptance criteria
• Reporting problems or failures leading to suggestions to improve or perfect the technical products
• Interacting with project teams and other stakeholders in the framework of the tests organization and activities
• Reviewing test plans, test detail designs, procedures and documentation
• Making suggestions to improve or adapt the testing activities to the program requirements
• Interacting with project teams and other stakeholders in the framework of the test organization and activities
• Tracking using MS Office 2016 including SharePoint or similar sharing tools
• Following using Test Management Tools (Jira, Confluence, QTest, TOSCA)
• Participating in and facilitating chat rooms with end users (Teams, Rocket.chat)
• Engaging in and assisting in large forums/meetings with end users (100+ participants)
• Provide senior consultancy support and conduct studies on technical, as well as strategic issues, regarding test management of information systems and IT processes;
• Provide tactical as well as strategic direction setting on test related activities;
• Provide on-going support to Member States test campaigns during the qualification process of their individual national systems evolution;
• Conducting test and qualification campaigns in cooperation with MS and based on MS needs;
• Strategic consultance and coordination of testing activities with the involvement of external stakeholders.

SKILLS

• Minimum 6 years of relevant IT experience with 5 years of testing experience
• Hold an International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Foundations Level certificate
• Hold an ITIL/ITIL V3 foundations certification
• Possess database skills, mainly in Oracle and SQL Server
• Have experience with WebLogic
• Extensive experience with different Operating Systems, with emphasis on Unix variants
• Good understanding of Object Oriented programming (OOP) and J2EE architecture
• Excellent knowledge of automated testing tools, like WinRunner, QTP, Rational Robot, etc.
• Demonstrate an understanding of IP Networking, protocols such as HTTP and HTTPS, Firewalls, Routers, etc.
• Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple, diverse projects simultaneously
• Good knowledge of English language
• Minimum 4 years of relevant education (master or equivalent) after the secondary school
• At least 9 years' experience in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) including 6 years in consultancy among which 3 years in relevant requested domain(s) (eg consultancy in governance and management, hardware and software, telecommunication, information systems, service oriented architectures, etc.)
• Test management experience, including coordination of design, implementation, execution and analyses
• Defining and reviewing test strategies
• ISTQB certification desired
• Perform quality assurance activities for test management technical artefacts
• Ability to actively participate in meetings, good communicator
• Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in team working are mandatory
• Experience in carrying out technical studies at several levels or improvement initiatives on the test management domain
• Capability to provide recommendations on improving the structure and efficiency of an organisation's IT systems.
• Ability to provide strategic guidance with regard to technology, IT infrastructures and the enablement of major business processes through enhancements to IT
• Capability of working independently, as well as in team
• Client orientation and stakeholder management, on a test management domain.
