Hays Cyber Specialists are exclusively partnered with a fast-growing charity who are looking to take on a Cyber Security Engineer. Our client is looking for someone with a demonstrable background in cyber security and would know best practice both academically and from hands on experience gained over several years in the industry. Your new role

You will be responsible for ensuring the client's technology estate is secure from cloud to desktop and everything in between. You will do this by threat identification and elimination, improving their systems by patching and improving configuration, and monitoring for threats outside of our client and responding before they become a problem.

You will be reporting into the "Information Security Manager" and be tasked with the following:

. Act as second in command as a subject matter expert for existing and future technology
. Leverage internal and external resources to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
. Prioritise identified threats and vulnerabilities.
. Contribute to the documentation and testing security incident response playbooks.
. Own and collaborate with the team to mitigate known threats and vulnerabilities.
. Proactively identify solutions to identify threats and evade security solutions currently in place.
. Responsible for maintaining automated mitigation systems; Anti-Virus, Patching, Email scanning.

What you'll need to succeed

. 5 years previous experience in a Cyber Security based role.
. Understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance framework.
. Experience using Vulnerability & Compliance Scanning tools.
. Knowledge of industry standard risk models.
. Knowledge of vulnerability attack methodologies
. Networking and Firewall technologies
. Anti-Virus, Encryption, Email, Intrusion Detection, Web Filtering, Pen Testing and Estate Scanners.
. Experience with PCI DSS & CIS18

Have two of the following qualifications:

. CISSP
. CCSP
. Certified Ethical Hacker
. CISM
