GPU Engineer
Whitehall Resources are looking for an experienced GPU Engineer for an initial 6 month contract with a client in Cambridgeshire. Candidates may be expected on site 2-3 days per week.
You will be required to use an FCSA Accredited Umbrella company if successful in this role.

WHAT YOU WILL BE INVOLVED WITH:
- Developing, maintaining and improving existing user and Kernel space driver components and deliver them for most recent Linux kernels and yet-to-be-published Android versions. This involves developing performance-critical driver for GPU hardware, including scheduling and memory management for Linux and Android OSs.
- You will provide the foundations that will make the GPU implementation of Vulkan, OpenGL and OpenCL simply the best in the market.
DAY TO DAY ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:
- Participating in all phases of software development - including design, implementation, testing, code review and documentation.
- Implementing new features for driver components
- Performing design and code reviews for other team members.
- Working closely with other software teams to interface driver components.
- Maintaining the existing codebase: fixing bugs and other quality assurance activities.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Proven expertise in C programming.
- Proficiency in problem solving and debugging skills.
- Excellent team working skills, self-motivated and results focused.
- Practical, organised and analytical approach to work.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree (computer science or electronics engineering).
DESIRABLE:
- Experience developing Linux Kernel components and/or device drivers.
- Understanding of computer architecture and Embedded systems.
- Experience with version control and bug tracking systems.
- Familiar with Android system software development and debugging
- Interest in graphics and compute APIs - Vulkan, OpenGL ES, OpenCL
- Experience of software development for a commercial organisation.
