Our Life Sciences client are looking for a Global Category Manager to join them on a contract basis.

The core focus of this role is to deliver strong commercial outcomes through close partnering and alignment with business stakeholders, local, regional and the global Procurement Category teams.

This role will be a core part of the Global IT Procurement team - with a focus mainly on Cloud and Network Services, and responsible for developing and delivering on global IT projects.

The role holder will take ownership to lead regional and global projects and provide guidance and expertise to local business partners (eg in the case of implementation for local network provisions).

Accountabilities

• Leading the Procurement/commercial aspects of Global IT projects
• Developing and executing strategies to incorporate the most efficient use of the various buying channels, ensuring compliance with procurement processes, use of best practice approach regarding e-tendering, Supplier Relationship Management and contract management
• Leading IT negotiations and contracting
• Identifying and sharing best practices
• Delivering market insight and knowledge to the sub category including market scanning and new supplier identification
• Be an Ambassador of the Procurement organisation (internal and external)
• Ownership for tracking and sign off/approval of actual value delivery/savings performance (savings), including agreement and verification of savings delivery, budget & forecast data.
• Define needs and market requirements for IT Projects by working closely with internal clients in the, Business, IT & IT Supplier Management team and the Procurement network.

Essential Knowledge & Experience

Critical knowledge

• Proven record of success in negotiations with suppliers for Network and Cloud contracts and services.
• Relevant market knowledge and understanding of contractual models for Cloud & Network and other IT Services
• Experience with AWS negotiations and cloud management services
• Experience in negotiating complex, large, global network services agreements Experience in cloud FinOps and security products and services
• Leadership and influencing skills as required for complex sourcing projects

• Strong stakeholder management
• Strategy development and implementation
• Contract negotiation skills (including Services, Outcome based contracting and software)
