Azure Infrastructure Engineer - HYBRID

We have one of our longest standing clients coming to market looking for an experienced Azure Infrastructure Engineer. The role will have a hybrid working pattern.

Job Purpose/Role

This role is to ensure that the client's infrastructure services run on robust, secure, compliant and performant platforms. The incumbent should be able to able to collaborate and influence across all the infrastructure platform teams across the business to help ensure that they deliver integrated solutions that are aligned to business goals.

The role should also ensure that infrastructure included within projects is fit for purpose, scalable, extendable and cost effective in line with larger business and architecture strategy.

The job holder will provide technical leadership to a team of infrastructure subject matter experts and to the customers to meet and set infrastructure objectives, delivering effective, reliable IT services and solutions which satisfy customer needs and priorities. The job holder must be forward thinking and pro-actively seek opportunities to improve processes in order to deliver operational efficiencies and business benefit.

To be able to meet these objectives they will have strong leadership, influencing, people and motivation skills.

The jobholder will have a good working knowledge of their relevant technical field.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and oversee the IT infrastructure hardware and software components in compliance with the architecture roadmap and based on feasibility checks
• Monitor the IT market and technological trends in the specific area, recommend future technology direction and emerging technologies that will enhance the client's operating efficiency and support enhanced customer service
• Ensure compliance and quality of the respective specifications and guidelines of the company and legislation (eg security, service definitions)
• Maintain and optimise the relevant system, ensure performance and availability and provide release and patch management

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

• Knowledge of common IT process landscape, management and standards
• Experienced in IT architecture management and IT security tools
• ITIL certification required
• Possessing project and IT service management skills, analytical thinking, methodological and conceptual skills
• Relevant work experience in system engineering in the area of responsibility (eg Network, Server, Storage, Cloud, Unix, Databases etc.)
• Ability to carry out tasks independently in non-standardised (ever-changing) work situations
• Competence to exchange complex information with diplomatic tact and to cooperate with a diverse internal and external audience
