Applications Database Administrator

Harris Global are currently on the lookout for a DBA to work for one of our Leading Insurance clients. This is a permanent opportunity working on a hybrid basis in London. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL and Azure experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain SQL Azure and on-prem databases
• Provide database administration on existing on-prem SQL Servers ()
• Maintain high availability (replication) of production databases to report SQL Servers
• Maintain replication of production databases to Azure managed instance
• Design and implement solutions for hosting user interfacing datasets
• Provide regular maintenance on SQL Server Statistics, Indexes and backups for key databases
• Support user access in line with the clients security model
• Determine, enforce, and document database policies, procedures and standards
• Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
• Monitor database performance and SQL agent
• Provide automation management and monitoring for power platform data flows

Experience:

• Proven working experience as a Database Administrator
• Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL
• Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding
• Previous experience with DBA Case Tools (Front End/Back End) and third party tools
• Knowledge of MS SQL Server 2012 - 2022 (inc Azure)
• Transact SQL
• MS Power platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse)
• JSON (JavaScript Object Notation)
• Knowledge of reporting dashboards/Power BI/SSRS
• Knowledge of API (Application Programming Interface)
• Understanding of Active Directory
• Knowledge of MS Office 365
