IT Systems Developer

WA Consultants in currently recruiting for an IT Systems Developer for a permanent position for a client in Hertfordshire.

Job purpose:

The IT Systems Developer role is critical to the success of the IT programme proactively working on developing software in all areas of the stack to meet specific business needs arising from both new and changes to existing business processes, ensuring the quality and security of the code bases exceed expectations, along with quickly responding to any issues reported by the Service Desk.

• Acting as an advocate for the IT department across all areas of the business.
• Pro-actively applies (or quickly gains) a comprehensive knowledge of the needs of stakeholders to provide solutions to problems.
• Developing software in all areas of the stack to meet specific business needs arising from both new and changes to existing business processes.
• Ensure the quality and security of the code bases.
• Estimation of development effort and recording of actual effort.
• Perform code reviews during pull requests.
• Contribute to Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Working productively and collaboratively with all parties internally and externally.
• Resolve application issues across all environments during all development phases.
• Produce and execute unit test plans.
• Ensure software releases are visible and work with teams to progress through environments.
• Support team members to solve complex problems.
• Keep up to date with new technologies, to be able to identify and recommend technologies that would benefit the business.
• Responsible for completing peer reviews when required.
• Responsible for ensuring all governance and processes are followed
• Escalation point for technical issues and working closely with the development team leader on direction of technology.
