The Flint Hills Technical College is seeking a dynamic, full-time, permanent, Director of Nursing to join its evolving and growing Nursing Program. This unclassified, exempt, position. This individual will be responsible for supervising all aspects of the nursing programs at FHTC. This includes supervision of curriculum, instruction, personnel, clinicals and facilities. Programs presently under the supervision of this position are: the LPN to RN Completion Program (Associate Degree in Nursing); Practical Nursing; and LPN IV Therapy Certification. The DON will be responsible for assuring students are introduced to the responsibilities, knowledge, techniques, and skills that are necessary for the successful and safe practice of nursing and successful completion of Kansas State Board of Nursing licensure requirements. Additional immediate responsibilities include duties related to ensuring the Associate Degree in Nursing program meets all requirements to begin enrollment of students for Fall of 2020.

The candidate will have a Master's Degree, or higher, in nursing from an accredited college/university and hold a current RN license in the State of Kansas. Additionally, applicants will have two years of experience teaching in an accredited nursing program or supervisory/leadership experience in the field of instruction. The successful candidate needs to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as be able to successfully complete a criminal background check.
