Job Overview

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • For projects in their remit, ensure revenue is recorded timely and accurately each month under the new accounting standard (606)
  • Prepare project level actual versus budget/forecast variance analysis
  • Prepare monthly forecasting of financial results (backlog)
  • Serve as a key contact point for interpretation of financial results with Project Mangers for their project portfolio
  • Review executed and proposed Contracts, Letter Agreements, Work Orders, Change Orders and other contract information as assigned
  • Prepare key reports on project cost rates, cost and expense forecasting (ETC), monthly utilization, resourcing requirements, headcount, backlog analysis, and/or gross profit for assigned projects
  • Conduct monthly variance analyses
  • Partner with business units to develop root cause analysis and gap closure plans for their project portfolio
  • Provide status of financial condition of the business unit by collecting, interpreting and reporting key financial data
  • Conduct independent financial analysis
  • Develop insightful, decision-making analytics
  • Develop ad hoc financial analyses as required
Education/Qualifications
  • Required: BA or BS degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
    • Preferred: CPA, CMA, MBA, Masters in related field

  • 10 years comparable experience required
  • Extensive knowledge and ability to use Excel, databases, Peoplesoft and Hyperion
Experience

The successful candidate will have a minimum 10 years of relevant financial experience with a proven track record of accurately and independently delivering their responsibilities and experience understanding complex sponsor contracts. It is expected that you will possess the following:

  • Thorough understanding of revenue recognition and the interface between external reporting, management reporting and budgeting/pricing
  • A hands-on, take-charge financial professional with strong analytical skills
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation. Strong business and common sense
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem solving skills required. Experience with various business analytic tools desired
  • Strong presentation and communication skills required. Ability to collaborate across various financial and operational groups from senior management to staff
  • Strong problem solving and business partnering skills
