If you love variety, challenge and the chance to be part of changing lives…this is the position for you!
The Career Consultant assists businesses in employing people with a variety of disabilities. This is accomplished by networking and cold calling with businesses throughout the community. Provide education to employers about the advantages of workforce diversity. Negotiate employment opportunities (through job development) based upon the client's employment goals. Assess job sites. Act as consultant to supervisors, co-workers and the client to strengthen the employer-employee relationship. Once a business hires a candidate referred by Vadis, the Career Consultant goes onto the job site to support the business as they train their new employee. The Career Consultant remains on the job site as long as needed and then provides periodic check-in visits to provide consultation that leads to job retention and career growth. Maintain up-to-date computer-based and hard copy files. Work closely with DVR (Division of Vocational Rehabilitation).
Vadis is looking for a professional, energetic self-starter who has a passion for helping people with disabilities get and keep their jobs. No experience is needed; Career Consultants receive the training they need to be successful. All you need is compassion, the ability to persuade and yes, a bit of paperwork and computer skills.
Vadis has a state-wide reputation for providing progressive employment services for adults with disabilities. Be part of a leading company with over 35 years of growth and contribution.
If you are a creative and motivated individual who wants to help others reach their full economic and human potential, we would like to hear from you!
