QUALITY SUPERVISOR - Metallurgical Testing Latrobe, PA PRIMARY DUTIES Manage, direct, and coordinate the efforts of Macroetch (DI) and Metallographic inspection per industry specification in a cost effective manner that supports both our internal and external customers. Interfaces with internal Technical personnel, Customers and outside Quality governing bodies to ensure testing is in compliance with industry standards. Coordinate the procurement of supplies and services, which includes outside laboratory testing if required for the efficient operation of the Metallographic area. Update, maintain and write standard operating procedures to support testing methods in both the DI and Micro evaluation areas. Maintain all calibration of equipment needed to perform Metallographic testing within the specifications as outlined in the SOP for Metallographic evaluation. Supports interaction with customers, suppliers and third-party audits related to quality systems. Supports all the functions of the Laboratory including maintaining the NADCAP and ISO17025 certifications. Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science or Metallurgy. 3+ years of experience in Metallurgical staff or Supervisory position. Proven working experience executing business plans and achieving goals and leading others to effectively manage individual employee performance. Ability to train and develop other professionals. Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, project management skills and interpersonal skills and a strong awareness of new technology. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate technical and business decisions. Requires a team player who has the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever changing production work environment. Ability to perform independent work on larger assignments with minimal coaching from higher level engineer, supervisor or manager.
