New opportunity: Lead DevOps Engineer

Salary: £75K-£90K

My client currently is looking for a Cloud DevOps Manager to work on a variety of assignments alongside their product and commercial management teams. Duties will include cloud infrastructure development as well as working closely with their product teams on existing projects and new innovations to support company growth and profitability.

Responsibility:

• Along with product and engineering leadership, develop and maintain our Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Hosted and On Premise Instructure
• Drive infrastructure projects and provide leadership and guidance on execution
• Manage our IT real estate, including on-site and staff equipment and agreement with suppliers
• Report on team progress to technical leadership
• Maintain an active role as an individual contributor
• Carry out performance reviews of team members in collaboration with respective heads of function
• Responsible for day-to-day line management and support of engineers on your team, including out of hours coverage

My client is looking for someone with the following skills:

• Cloud Infrastructure Experience and Management with ideally Google or others such as Amazon or Microsoft
• Good knowledge and experience in a Linux Sys Admin Role
• Experience working with container based technologies ie Kubernetes, docker etc
• Experience with HTTP Servers such as NginxKeen interest in and passion in subjects such as CI/CD, Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
• Good general knowledge of relational databases (SQL) and document stores (NoSQL), the social media landscape, SaaS, Business Intelligence and analytics landscape
• Team oriented, tenacity and enthusiastic about quality
• Experience working with distributed microservice architectures including observability and monitoring solutions
• Any experience with the following would be an advantage: DNS, general networking knowledge, Git, Windows Server/Linux (ubuntu) administration, GCB, TeamCity, Instana, Terraform, Python/BASH/.NET, FluxCD, Spinnaker, Vault
