Firewall Specialist

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

To review the current OT/IT boundary Firewall rule set and to remove overly permissive rules, remove any rules that have not had any hits and to ensure the rule set is efficient and providing a security controls at the boundary of OT/IT. Working with business subject matter experts to understand what rules are required and to provide security knowledge to ensure rules are only doing what they are setup to do. Create process/procedure documentation to improve the security.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

• Working with OT/IT subject matter experts to remove weak rules within the Firewall rule set.
• Define the processes/polices around Firewall rule implementation and determine any breaches.
• Work with this group who maintain operate the Firewalls to ensure this group requirements and help drive improvements were identified.
• Review Firewall ruleset using tools available via this Group.
• Creating policies/procedures for this group Firewall request process.
• Work with this group IT to define policy breaches.

Knowledge and Experience:

Essential:

• Strong knowledge of securing Windows, Linux systems.
• Strong knowledge of securing OT systems at multiple levels of the Purdue model
• Strong knowledge of configuring Firewalls
• Strong knowledge of Data Networking technology
• An appreciation of power systems infrastructure and plant operation.
• A strong understanding of risk assessment and risk management processes

Desirable:

• Experience working with Skybox and Checkpoint Firewalls.
