Working with a an organisation who is the leading expert in the workplace solutions for other UK Businesses, our client is looking for a Front End Engineer that will be a key member of a engineering team developing the organisations E-commerce platforms.

Your new role
As a Front End Engineer, you will be a key member of an engineering team developing the Viking E-commerce platforms. You will bring a positive attitude and will challenge yourself and other team members to continually deliver high quality, clean, performant and highly operable code. Challenging the approach of others is expected and this can be done in a collaborative environment, whilst respecting the fact that the final decision may be made by a Principal Front End Engineer. You will support Junior Front End Engineers in your team to help them progress to the next level to ensure that progression and succession planning are in place. As with all levels of Front End Engineer, you are expected to be self-reflective and be able to identify your areas for development that will allow you to progress to the next level in your career. Success in this role can be measured by your technical ability, feedback from Junior Front End Engineers on your support and peer review from Senior and Principal Front End Engineers on your ability to contribution to the creation of solutions and delivery of high quality, clean, performant and highly operable code

What you'll need to succeed

• Good knowledge of web development including web security, caching strategies, content delivery networks
• Good JavaScript, HTML & CSS skills
• Good understanding of the HTTP protocol
• Ideally some experience of JavaScript tooling (ESLint, Webpack, Grunt, Gulp)
• Some experience with version control systems, ideally Git
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to contribute to the creation of a culture of collaboration, sharing and learning
• Some understanding of agile methodologies
