Infrastructure Engineer - Business Operations

As an Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible for the planning, provisioning, installation/configuration, and operations of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure in a collaborative software and systems engineering environment.

Responsibilities include:

• building and setting up new infrastructure, Servers and development tools
• working with DevOps teams to automate and improve development and release processes
• ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
• identifying technical problems and implementing software updates and fixes
• working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
• working with the IT service desk to provide support to the engineering/development teams in accordance with SLA's
• Ensuring that the organisation's data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation and knowledge base

Person Specification

Essential Skills and Experience

• At least 5+ years hands-on experience in infrastructure engineering and/or DevOps
• Strong Windows Server and Linux experience
• Powershell & Bash Scripting fundamentals
• Systems/solution design, requirements gathering

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Virtualisation technology - VMWare, Nutanix
• Automation - Packer, Terraform, Salt
• Azure DevOps
• Git, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Artifactory
• Citrix VDI environments
• DevOps/Software Development environments
• Containerisation technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Identity and Access Management, Network Security, Data Security, Digital Security
• Systems Monitoring & Management
• Secure by design principles - patching, vulnerability assessments
• Experience with secured government networks
