This role operates as a Cloud IT Architect, working inside the Cloud Centre of Excellence, accountable for the design and delivery of Amazon hosted cloud infrastructure components in line with the Strategy and aligned to the strategic cloud design.

You will be equally as comfortable building a POC of a new solution as picking up the pen' and sketching an idea on a whiteboard to an agile team.

You will work closely with the Project teams, to provide direction, prioritisation and technical insight in articulating and delivering architectural choices within various AWS services and solution methodologies

Responsible for delivering the appropriate technology solutions across cloud Infrastructure platforms and to contribute to the delivery of the Group IT Strategy.

Key accountabilities

Work with the Cloud Centre of Excellence to formulate the cloud platform delivery and strategic roadmap.
Design and delivery of technical solutions on Cloud Platforms, primarily AWS and Azure or GCP that address requirements for scalability, reliability, security and performance.
Help set the technical direction of the cloud platform ensuring the technical/architectural integrity of the platform
Design and automate Cloud Environments (Control Tower). Develop automated processes to deploy templates and account blueprints ensuring best practices and guardrails are maintained and deployed.
Design, develop and support Cloud First solutions assist Delivery teams in supporting the solution design and recommend design improvements. Support the migration of services from monoliths to modern Cloud services.
Work with Solutions Architects and Delivery Managers to deliver agreed goals and roadmaps, define best practice architecture and assist teams in adopting Cloud first approaches
Assists with and respond to relevant internal and external audits
Analyse risk related to cloud infrastructure components and provided mitigations for them
Deliver the appropriate technology solutions in a variety of cloud infrastructure technology areas
Provides expert advice and consultation on the cloud infrastructure implementation and support
Work with third party suppliers and products, as well as in-country IT teams to identify and deliver appropriate Cloud technologies and solutions.
Participate on the relevant IT governance bodies
Maintaining Automated Compliance Framework to ensure DevOps teams use AWS securely and efficiently
Design and develop effective automation procedures and support delivery teams in enhancing approaches to automation and continuous Integration and deployment.
Strong knowledge of Cloud Services and security solutions with deep technical subject matter expertise and practical experience in: AWS, Azure and GCP. Automation and DevSecOps practices and processes.

Requirements
Strong understanding of the IT industry trends
Strong knowledge of security by design and shift left approaches
Cloud Networking (DNS, Security, Edge, Hybrid, IPAM)
Infrastructure as code and architecting with IAC, Automation and CI/CD practices
Cloud Services and Cloud adoption
Strong time management, communication, and negotiation skills, inclusive of ability to communicate with senior management
Strategic thinking, Security by Design, Cloud First
Effective organizational skills, negotiating and influencing skills
Experienced at working in international, multi-vendor situations
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Service operations and improvement mindset
Ability to work remotely and largely unsupervised, and to deliver to written requirements
Design Cloud First Architecture
Experience as a hands-on technical practitioner/specialist in client facing roles in large enterprises and proven client facing consulting skills, including building strong client relationships.
At least 2 years of experience in working in International disbursed teams
Driving the design and delivery of IT Cloud adoption and Cloud Services
Experienced at working in international, multi-vendor situations
At least 5 years of experience in managing Cloud or Cloud/Infrastructure (Hybrid), ideally come from a DevOps/Cloud engineering background
