Engineering Leader/Tech Lead for Fintech Startup - Fully Remote

A fast-growing fintech startup that is on a mission to reduce the cost and complexity of cross-border payments for underserved communities around the world is looking to hire an Engineering Leader to expand their team here in the UK. Their cutting-edge platform leverages the latest technologies to make cross-border payments faster, cheaper, and more reliable, while also providing a seamless user experience.

Job Description:

They are looking for an Engineering Leader/Tech Lead with a strong JVM background, preferably Kotlin, to help lead the development of their platform. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of developers and working closely with the product and design teams to drive the development of new features and enhancements.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of our platform using Kotlin and other JVM technologies.
• Collaborate with the product and design teams to drive the development of new features and enhancements.
• Manage and mentor a team of developers, ensuring high-quality code and timely delivery of features.
• Help define and enforce coding standards, development processes, and best practices.
• Work closely with the DevOps team to ensure that our platform is reliable, scalable, and secure.

Qualifications:

• At least 7 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on JVM technologies, particularly Kotlin.
• Proven experience leading a team of developers.
• Strong understanding of software design principles and patterns.
• Experience working with distributed systems and microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
