Title: Solutions Architect

Location: Winchester - Hybrid

Duration: Permanent

Budget: £65,000 - £70,000 PA + Benefits

Key Accountabilities

As a senior architect role, the candidate will lead the domain architecture of solution, platform and supplier integrations for the Utilities sector.

Working with Enterprise Architecture and the wider architecture and business communities, the candidate will formulate the SMART Utilities roadmaps to support the business strategy and to grow existing and new products and services.

Key duties include:

• Provide technical leadership across SMART Metering delivery programmes
• Build enduring relationships with key business and technology stakeholders; including customers, outsource partners and suppliers
• Be the custodian and provide quality assurance of business and technical requirements
• Provide architecture assurance into external stakeholder groups and be responsible for quality assurance of architecture and design
• Develop and ensure the adoption of best practice in architecture and systems engineering standards and procedures
• Own and produce estimates and concept design in response to demand
• Be able to coordinate architects, designers and developers to successfully solve technical problems
• Provide architecture governance and chair design authority reviews

Solid experience within SMART metering is a must

• Excellent collaboration and engagement skills to connect with, lead, and empower peers
• Experience of Business Process methodologies
• Experience of providing technical and delivery leadership to internal and external teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive level presentations
• Experience in engaging with and leading external outsource and supplier delivery
• Experience in solution architecture operating at a senior, domain level, owning architecture or engineering domains
• Extensive experience developing technical solutions, including developing requirements from business to systems and components
• Stakeholder and external partner management and engagement skills
• Excellent story telling skills by way of simple architectural visual representation skills, and examples of experience presenting to a mixture of audiences in size and technical capabilities
• Experience of at least one industry leading architecture framework, eg TM Forum Frameworks, TOGAF or similar certification
