There is an amazing opportunity for you based in Derby, it's a Model Builder (Planning and forecasting) role for a great public sector organisation. The role itself is critical in delivering the solution design under guidance of the integrated planning team and solution architect oversight. This role's responsibility is to design (using a planning and forecasting modelling tool), build and testing the solution, The role documents data architecture, and Datamodelling solutions, which include the use of relational, dimensional, and NoSQL databases. Responsibilities:
- Ability to take user requirements and develop and deliver an implementation plan, to ensure that the models are fit for purpose and delivered on time.
- Plan work for self and junior members of the team.
- Contribute to project plans for short- and medium-term projects.
- Work with internal and external customers and subject matter experts to agree scope of model requirements.
- Present and explain complex and sometimes highly complex data models to non - data people.
- Write clear standardised operating procedures and guidance notes for subject matter experts and others to follow.
- Present data in a variety of formats, including excel and PowerPoint.
- Help the solutions architect understand the requirements of complex data processes.
- Implement business and IT data requirements through new data strategies and designs across all data platforms (relational, dimensional, and NoSQL) and data tools (reporting, visualization, analytics, and machine learning).
- Work with business and application/solution teams to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop conceptual/logical/physical data models.
- Define and govern Datamodelling and design standards, tools, best practices, and related development for enterprise data models.
Requirements:
- Educated to bachelor's degree in computer/data science technical or equivalent experience.
- Significant hands-on relational, dimensional, and/or analytic experience of NoSQL data platform technologies, and ETL and data ingestion protocols
- Experience with data warehouse, data lake, and enterprise big data platforms in multi-data-centre contexts required.
- Good knowledge of metadata management, Datamodelling, and related tools.
- Advanced keyboard skills and in-depth knowledge of Microsoft packages such as Excel, PowerBI and databases.
- Able to understand and apply data technologies in a health setting.
- Able to translate complex data processes into simple language that can be understood by non-technical team members.
