An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Microsoft Specialist to join a Central Government organisation based in London with hybrid working arrangements.

The Microsoft Team Lead will work as part of Digital Services team leading, managing, maintaining, and developing Microsoft products primarily; SharePoint, Power Platform & MS PaaS solutions, at times alongside 3rd party consultants and resellers/suppliers to continuously improve the organisation's solutions.

Focus areas are:

Define and lead the technical roadmap and strategy.

Primary liaison with customer and business stakeholders

Lead and contribute to development teams to build, support, and maintain solutions that meet business requirements.

Manage program of work to implement the roadmap, strategy, and all integrations to and from the platform.

Identify opportunities to improve and support business processes using the Microsoft technology stack, improve productivity and make recommendations to support the organisation.

Responsibilities:

The Microsoft Team Lead key responsibilities include:

Application development, implementation, integration and support solutions on the Microsoft Power platform.

Responsible for the ongoing support & maintenance of the platform and applications that reside on it.

Using appropriate tools and Agile best practices to deliver solutions to agreed deadlines and quality thresholds.

Ensuring that solution is continually assessed and evolved to take advantage of, and deliver new functionality, aligned to our strategy.

Ensuring data quality and integrity is maintained

Contributing to the scoping of business requirements and determine whether requirements should be fulfilled by Microsoft platform and team.

Managing the strategic relationship with Microsoft, support and consultancy developments.

Leading on governance arrangements for the Microsoft platform.

Ensure that solution design align with the goals of the organisation, following the digital roadmap and principles within the Digital Plan

Define, communicate, and manage a change management (release) process to develop and implement new applications/code and updates to existing applications/code

Knowledge share with team members, mentoring and coaching colleagues

Skills required

Communication skills - Able to communicate effectively across organisational, technical, and political boundaries. Able to communicate plans, assumptions, and progress to a range of stakeholders. You can manage stakeholder expectations and facilitate discussions about high risk and complexity even within constrained timescales. To advocate and communicate what a team does to create trust and authenticity. And to react and respond to challenge calmly and effectively.

Problem ownership - You know how to ensure that the right actions are taken to investigate, resolve and anticipate problems. You can coordinate the team to investigate problems and implement solutions and preventative measures.

Information security. You know how to maintain the security, confidentiality, and integrity of information systems through compliance with relevant legislation and regulations. You can design, implement, and operate controls and management strategies to allow this.

Modern standards approach. You use modern standards approach throughout automation and testing.

Service support. You can maintain and support services.

Systems design. You can design system components which meet business needs. You are good at solving problems and understanding technical and business complexity.

Product ownership - You can start to define and create approaches. You know how to coach others. You can implement new ways of working. You know how to apply tools, terms, and concepts in a variety of ways. You understand what is most important and applicable.

Experience needed for this role:

Technologies - Experience using MS Teams, SharePoint, Power Platform, Azure DevOps, Office 365.

Technical Knowledge/Demonstrated abilities: Defining systems strategy, developing, designing and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures, and implementing practical business solutions using the following technologies:

o Microsoft Power Platform including: Power Apps, Logic Apps, Power Automate.

o SharePoint, Office 365 developments & integrations.

o Functional knowledge & experience of ITSM processes.
