Synergize Consulting have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Specialist to join our client who are a telecommunications software company based in Reading.
You will be working within their regional EMEA/MEAP payroll team covering payrolls in multiple countries.
Fluent written and spoken English. Other European languages desirable.
Role Overview:
- 2 Days in the office, paying Up to £45K + 10% Annual Bonus & Benefits.
- Their Payroll team cover UK, various countries in Europe, Middle East and Asia and they are looking for someone who has worked not just UK Payroll and overseas.
- Bilingual ideal and with a strong knowledge of Accounting oversees compliance etc.
This role is key to ensuring our clients payrolls are submitted, reviewed, paid in a timely manner and are recorded and reconciled accurately. The Payroll Specialist will manage the end-to-end payroll activities and provide efficient and accurate accounting support within the finance department. It involves a high level of organization due to the various elements involved and will give someone the opportunity to challenge themselves and be responsible for entire end to end payroll processes across the EMEA region, including developing a very good understanding payroll financial accounting.
Key Responsibilities
End to end processing of various payrolls for a variety of countries within EMEA/MEAP and currently with several different payroll providers, each with their own complexities.
Serves as key liaison between the human resources and finance department to maintain accurate employee payroll information.
Act as the main point of contact with external payroll providers.
Review of externally prepared payroll files and reconciliation to inputs.
Review output files from vendor and request for corrections where necessary
Works with the treasury team to ensure adequate funding requirements and payment to employees are met.
Preparation of payroll journals and of monthly payroll accounts reconciliations.
Preparation of vacation accrual journals. Assisting with preparation of ad hoc journals at month-end or year-end.
Coordinates with our payroll vendors and departments on a regular basis to ensure compliance with all regulatory reporting requirements. Ensures that quarterly, annual reporting and employee tax documents are completed on a timely basis.
Administrative tasks - eg, Payslips, year-end tax certificates and close monitoring of payroll mailboxes and action of items requiring attention.
Managing ad hoc queries from employees and external providers.
Working closely with the Regional HR departments.
Liaise with internal parties on compliance matters such as periodic audits etc.
Recommends changes in methods or procedures to improve the efficiency of the payroll function.
Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures compliance with legislation regarding employment and employee matters.
Acts as point of contact from payroll to handle questions relating to employee payments.
Perform ad-hoc analysis, reconciliations as required by other teams.
Job Requirements
EMEA payroll experience highly desirable.
Ideally, possess Bachelor's degree in any of Business Administration, Accounting or Finance, or at least 5 years previous end-to-end payroll processing experience, if possible, in countries mentioned above.
Previous experience with ADP Streamline preferred.
Must be able to demonstrate sufficient understanding in the area of payroll taxes.
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and other applications.
Strong ability to maintain confidentiality in the course of work and understand general GPDR requirements in terms of data protection. Ability to exercise discretion at all times.
Strong ability to pay attention to detail and perform tasks accurately, whilst working under pressure.
Excellent problem-solving skills and time management skills.
Excellent mathematical skills is a must and good understanding of payroll accounting is desirable.
