REMOTE Senior Data Engineer (Architect Data Architecture Engineering Principal Lead Java Python GCP AWS Cloud Trading Front Office Finance Financial Services Spark Kafka Agile Datalake Data Lake Investment Banking Asset Manager Management) required by our Fixed Income trading software client in London.

You MUST have the following:

• Good experience as a Senior Data Engineer/Lead Data Engineer
• Good ability around architecture and design
• Excellent in Java or Python
• GCP or AWS
• Analytics and streaming experience (Kafka, Spark or other)
• Agile

The following is DESIRABLE, not essential:

• Cloud strategy definition and implementation
• Experience building, modernising or improving data lakes

Role: REMOTE Senior Data Engineer (Architect Data Architecture Engineering Principal Lead Java Python GCP AWS Cloud Trading Front Office Finance Financial Services Spark Kafka Agile Datalake Data Lake Investment Banking Asset Manager Management) required by our Fixed Income trading software client in London. You will join a global team of 11 that report into the New York based Senior Data Engineering Manager. You will work closely with the engineering manager and principal engineer to define technical strategy, oversee code and design reviews, the implementation of standards and processes and delivery of projects and solutions in this area. This team is part of a greater department of about 70 that engineers that platforms behinds the company's trading applications, data products and post-trade products.

The role will require you to have Python or Java but ideally some of both. As the team supports both the analytics and trading fucntions, you will need to have streaming and analytics experience.

In the first 12 months, you will work as a lead towards the further delivery of the company's cloud strategy for this data engineering area. They have already adopted AWS but aim to increase this adoption aggressively. You will also work on the project to assess and update the company's datalake. You will also be involved in rapidly raising the standard of the team, putting in place processes and creating a high-performing team. Additionally, the existing datalake needs assessing and updating.

Hybrid working is extremely flexible, as long as you are able to make it into the New York office if required.

Salary: £100k - £140k + 20% Bonus + Share Options + Pension
