Commercial Business Lead Textile Recycling Home Based (Ideally in UK/Mainland Europe) c £115k pa (or equivalent), plus car, bonus, LTIP and benefits. A substantial €10 billion organisation, our client has a history spanning 100 years and operate at the pinnacle of this exciting and dynamic industry. A global speciality chemical organisation, they operate in a unique integrated business model and provide end users and manufacturers across 5 continents with a wide range of high performance solutions. Continued growth and investment remain firmly on the agenda and as such, they are now looking to develop a new textile business offer with a focus on the circular textile economy and post-consumer textile recycling. The requirement is to develop a new business unit and as such, this is an extremely time to be joining this organisation and hence we are looking for an outstanding change agent with extensive textile/recycling expertise to lead a growth agenda. Responsibilities: • This pivotal newly created stand-alone position demands an individual with combined commercial and technical acumen and intellectual horsepower to create innovative textile/recycling business solutions and bring sustainable competitive advantage. • You will pull together all elements defining the appropriate business plan and market strategy in order to develop market opportunities. This may involve a mix of business initiatives ranging from JV and licensing models etc. • This role is an exciting and unique mix of commercial, technical and engineering activities together with product and market analysis where you will be required to raise the bar and build a strategic value proposition based on the circular textile economy. • You will develop the market for the textile/recycling business unit creating the commercial and technical roadmap with a focus on market penetration, engineering and product development and all appropriate routes to market whilst creating alignment with key customers. • Home based (ideally in the UK/mainland Europe), you will be required to conduct appropriate travel and will execute the strategic plan for the textile business unit as they look to further penetrate within the textile/recycling industry. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for key initiatives including; sales and marketing, R&D, production and finance, together with other key interfaces to include third party organisations i.e. research institutions, professional and trade associations etc. Person: • Fluent in English and degree qualified ideally in a textile related, chemical or engineering discipline, you will have extensive textile/recycling expertise and market knowledge through the entire supply chain. • As such, you are likely to be working for a best in class chemical company supplying to the textile industry, textile recycler, fibre/textile manufacturer or OEM/brand owner, where you will have extensive expertise and knowledge of the textile and recycling supply chain and routes to market. • You are likely to have a combined technical and commercial background and as such may well be operating currently within a Commercial/BD or Technical/Engineering/R&D position. • Intellectually powerful and action orientated, you will have the charisma to influence those around and will relish the opportunity to make your mark and lead the business to maximise commercial opportunities. • This is a superb opportunity to be involved in genuinely influencing the shape and size of the business and to develop your career within an organisation where outstanding opportunities exist for high performers.
