DBA & Integration Lead

Are you a well-versed DBA and Integration Lead?

I have an exciting new position that has just become available for a DBA to work as part of a highly developing higher education facility based in Brighton. This role will be responsible for the development, management and support of the internal business systems and databases at the core of the organisations IT infrastructure. Ensuring that there is a reliable and secure infrastructure that delivers integrated business critical systems, processes, and information.

Starting ASAP, paying up to £45,000 per annum.

• To create, maintain, support and develop the databases and technical infrastructure.
• To carry out database administration tasks associated with organisations systems, including delivering software and system upgrades and patches, monitoring database activity and resource usage, optimising database performance and forecasting future resource needs.
• To ensure that databases are protected by effective support and maintenance activities, working with IT colleagues to ensure that regular backup and recovery routines are in place.
• To design and implement new application services in support of the organisations strategic plan.
• Design, implement, test and maintain complex technical integration's across multiple systems, including in-house, enterprise application and cloud hosted systems.
• To advise senior management on long term strategies and best practice associated with the database services, integration's and infrastructure responsibilities.

Technical Skills:

• Extensive knowledge of and skills in database administration of enterprise class MS SQL Server or Oracle databases for corporate applications.
• Extensive knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL or SQL Server T-SQL.
• Knowledge of application installation on Linux and Windows environments.
• Knowledge of Application Server technologies, including Java.
