Procurement Specialist - Indirect spend

Our Blue Chip Utilities client is looking for a Procurement Specialist (Indirect Spend/Surveys/Fleet/Facilities etc). It will be for 6 months initially & must be via an umbrella - role will be remostly remote with 2/3 days a month in Glasgow

Essential experience

• General procurement experience across 'indirect' spend areas - MRO or Survey/Inspection Services would be ideal and/or Fleet, Plant & Travel, Property & Facilities Management, Customer Services, Marketing and Financial Services.
• Proficient in developing and running formal group-wide tenders
• 'Regulated' sourcing experience would be beneficial
• Good knowledge of contractual terms and conditions and their applicability
• Solid stakeholder engagement and management

Skills and Experience

. A track record of relevant procurement knowledge across some 'indirect' category areas would be preferred, as well as having experience of using various forms of contract and the associated terms.

Ideal skill include

• Be accomplished in negotiating costs, contractual terms and relevant performance measures for supplier contracts.
• Have experience of a formal sourcing process and have some knowledge of relevant contractual risks and how to manage/mitigate these.
• Be enthusiastic, with excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills that enable you to comfortably work across all levels within the business, whilst having the confidence to challenge the norm and think creatively
• Be self-motivated, well organised, commercially astute and have strong problem-solving skills.
• Be comfortable working to deadlines, being able to change priorities whilst managing own time effectively.
