Akkodis are working with a well-established specialist retailer who are looking to hire a Visual FoxPro/SQL Developer to work on their internal system within the IT department. This is a long-established company who have been trading successfully for over 80 years who are still looking to expand.

The company has successfully developed high quality systems to control all aspects of their solutions. It will be the candidate's prime responsibility to manage and maintain this system whilst also adding new functionality when required. The team is consisting of 6 developers that the successful candidate would be working alongside with. They also will have the opportunity to be able to influence the future development of the core business system.

To be successful in in this role the company is looking for someone:

* Who has demonstrable track record in Visual FoxPro coding V9.0 however experience with older versions will be taken into consideration.
* Extensive SQL database development and data driven web applications is also key for this role. Furthermore, experience with Visual Basic, VB.NET and C#.net would also be beneficial but is not essential.
* The candidate should be commercially aware and be able to understand the key aspects of the business and have a straightforward approach when it comes to developing the code so it is a good business fit and easy for the end user to be able to use.

This role is a Hybrid role which is based within the companies IT department at the head office based in Birmingham where the requirement is to be in the office 3 days a week.
