Master Control Room (MCR) Technical Operator - Up to £34k

Hays Technology is looking for a Master Control Room (MCR) Technical Operator for a local TV multiplex company based in the West Midlands area.

The successful candidate will manage the running of the Network Operations Centre, communicate directly with clients and 3rd party suppliers, and perform live routing Switches for redundancy and planned changes. You will also Provide first and second line fault diagnosis and resolution and troubleshooting in conjunction with the engineering team. The technical area uses the latest technology encompassing IP Multicast, SDI/ASI, Storage, Automation, Playout, Encoding, DVB multiplexing, and monitoring facilities.

What we are looking for:

• Operational aptitude, including a general understanding of IT systems and networking.
• Experience or an interest in broadcast systems from a technical, rather than creative perspective. Knowledge of SDI/ASI and broadcast technologies.
• Ability to prioritise workload, work under pressure, and able to work well in a team and on their own.
• Someone who is happy to work on a 24/7 shift rotation
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
