Configuration and Data Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Configuration Manager to support the growth and development of our clients team.

As the Configuration and Data Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, development, establishment and maintenance of hardware, software and documentation artefacts across a multitude of new and Legacy systems:

Duties:

• Manage the Configuration and Data Management Engineers and support their development.
• Development of the Configuration Management tool sets, eg PLM and data sharing tools, including user acceptance, planning and testing. As well as providing support to users at all levels.
• Creation, maintenance and development of Configuration and Data Management Plans and Processes.
• Manage the Configuration Control Boards to control the establishment and subsequent change of configuration baselines.
• Perform document control and data management including the coordination, production and delivery of all data items generated on the programs.
• Ensure that the programme historical build data is stored and maintained in accordance with CM and DM plans.
• Be prepared, willing and able to perform hands on data processing in Configuration toolsets to support the CM team during busy periods of work.
• Maintain programme alignment by establishing communications with all programme personnel.
• Ensure that CM and DM audits are undertaken the results of which support the integrity of products or artefacts.

The position requires thorough knowledge and experience of design life cycle management and processes, knowledge of product Lifecycle Management tools and configuration and data management principals:

• Knowledge of CMII, ISO 9000, MAOS and DAOS requirements.
• Ability to effectively influence, interface and communicate with multiple levels of management and colleagues in other engineering disciplines.
• Conversant with and practical knowledge of CM Standards, eg Def Stan 05-57 and 05-123, EIA 649, etc.
• Knowledge of PLM/PDM toolsets.
• Experience in the ability to manage a complex CMDM task involving multiple systems with multiple user and customer interfaces at all levels.
• Experience of providing CM and DM solutions satisfying all aspects of the Design Engineering Life Cycle and beyond into Service Support.
• Experience of developing and implementing new strategies within programmes and delivery teams with an emphasis on single common approach across multiple disciplines and programmes to drive efficiency.

The candidate should possess line manager experience to be able to effectively run the team.
