IT Ops Support Engineer - Infrastructure, Linux, Networking, Applications

Our rapidly growing Communications client based in London is seeking a dynamic, hands-on and technically astute IT Operations Support Engineer with strong technical skills in Linux, cloud Infrastructure and Networking (TCP/IP DNS Network Protocols etc.).

You must have excellent Linux Admin knowledge

As IT Ops Support Engineer, you will be working in a hybrid cloud infrastructure environment, focused on supporting internal and cloud infrastructure, as well as project-based work.

Other duties will include:

• Designing new IT systems
• Developing and maintaining the CI/CD system
• Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners
• Monitoring and maintaining systems and networks
• Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests
• Providing technical support across the company (in person, by email, or over the phone)

Technical skills and experience

• An understanding of modern infrastructure design & administration
• An appreciation for security, both in design & operation
• Networking Skills - TCP/IP, DNS, Network Protocols, etc.
• Good experience with Terraform and Ansible
• Experience with open-source software, like Docker, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Prometheus, and others.
• Strong Linux Administration experience
• Experience of Application support of systems like Atlassian, Video Conferencing, LDAP, VPN
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines from scratch and deploying using Jenkins
• Ability to follow process and clearly document tasks.
• Extensive experience of logging and managing incidents/tickets, and the ability to look after the workflow of others.
• Ability to create high quality supporting documentation for the Operations team

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must as you will be required to engage with stakeholders of a variety of levels internally and externally.

Current SC Clearance or the ability to be Security cleared is required for this role.

Again, we are seeking a dynamic IT Operations Support Engineer with strong technical skills in Linux, cloud Infrastructure and Networking (TCP/IP DNS Network Protocols etc.) as well as an understanding of modern infrastructure design & administration.

This is a permanent remote position (with travel to the office in London 2 times per month) and is paying a salary of up to £65,000 (DOE) + good benefits.
